THE SHARD in London - to be Western Europe's tallest building when finished - is cut down to size using the SUREWELD PLASMADEK 60.
The specially designed and manufactured plasma cutting machines are being used to cut steel decking panels on site as the 'Shard of Glass' rises skyward.
Designed and manufactured for site use, the 400 volt 3 phase machines with built-in compressor have a cutting capacity of 18mm and are capable of cutting the much thinner decking panels at speed.
The process is very quiet compared to the traditionally used disc cutting machines - a feature essential to most inner city projects.
